Personal and convenience kits
When booking an RV or camper some things are included in your rental rate and other things are optional. When requesting a quote you can check what’s included and what’s optional in Step 2. By ticking the boxes of the mentioned extra’s you can add to your basic rental fee. Important extra’s are the so-called personal and convenience kits.
Personal kits
Personal kits are never included in the basic rental rate but are an additional option for all suppliers. The content of a personal kit varies per supplier but in general this kit includes bedlinen, 1 or 2 bath towels, a pillow and a pillow case. In case you want to add the personal kit, you select the number of your travel party. If your RV vacation is close to home, you can also choose to bring your own sleeping bag and towels. Another option is to buy these items in a supermarket on the first day of your trip. The costs of a personal kit varies per supplier, ranging from US$40 to US$80. Some suppliers call this kit a bedding kit.
Convenience kits
Convenience kits are never included in the basic rental rate but are an additional option for all suppliers. The content of a convenience kit varies per supplier but in general this kit includes pots, pans, bowls, plates, cutlery and a broom. The amount of bowls, plates and cutlery is adapted to the amount of people your rental vehicle is suited for. If your RV vacation is close to home, you can also choose to bring your own pots and pans. Another option is to buy all needed appliances in a supermarket on the first day of your trip. The cost of a convenience kit varies per supplier, ranging from US$40 to US$125. Some suppliers call this kit a kitchen kit. Our US supplier Road Bear RV only offers convenience kits which includes the items of a personal kit.
Free personal and convenience kits
Many of our suppliers offer specials with free personal or convenience kits. This can save you hundreds of dollars, so it is always worth checking our Specials page. Three of our suppliers, Britz, Star RV and Escape, work with all inclusive rates, which means the additional personal and convenience kit are already included in the basic rental rate.
