Making a reservation

There are so many camper suppliers. How do I know which supplier fits me best?

Choose a vehicle that fits your budget, travel company and comfort preferences. After selecting a destination, pickup location and drop-off location, you click on 'Find an RV'. You will see an overview of all our vehicles, available on your selected location. They are automatically in order of pricing. If you want more information about the vehicle or RV supplier, click on 'vehicle details'.

Worldwide Campers works together with 40 RV and camper suppliers worldwide. We offer 16 suppliers in North America, including large suppliers with dozens of rental locations and smaller RV specialists. We work together with Cruise America and El Monte, which are large companies with many locations accross the USA. We also work together with Campervan North America and Best Time RV, which have less rental locations but a lot of knowledge, experience and passion for their business. All our suppliers have an excellent track record and offer good quality campers and RVs. Of course there are some differences between the suppliers and their rental vehicles. Not only in pricing, but also in service and age of the campers. We refer you to our suppliers page for a closer look on all suppliers. You can also contact our customer service team for more information. We will gladly advise you!

Can I request a preferred location, even if it is not listed on the website?

If your preferred rental location is not listed on our website or in our booking engine, we do not offer this location.

How early should I book my rental RV or camper?

We advise you to book as early as possible in order for you to have enough choice in rental vehicles and the best prices. Most of our suppliers decide their rates according to supply and demand. The higher the demand, the higher the vehicles rates will be. Within the USA we work together with a couple RV suppliers, who offer early bird discounts up to 20% if you book a year ahead. Are you planning on traveling in the summer months? Then we advise to book your vehicle before January.

If you book RV rental in a foreign country, we advise you to book one year to six months prior to your departure. Many of our suppliers outside of North-America have smaller fleets but are popular in demand.

Regularly check our specials and sign up for our monthly newsletter to stay up to date on all our early bird discounts.

Why are the prices in my requested quote different from the prices on the website?

Many of our RV and camper suppliers work with flexible rates, which change regularly based on the demand and the amount of vehicles left at a particular rental location. Depending on the supplier rental rates are adjusted monthly, weekly or daily. Worldwide Campers always checks the current rates and will send you a quote including special discounts that might be valid at that time.

Is the vehicle I requested guaranteed to be available?

The vehicle of your choice is only guaranteed at the time of a paid booking. We work with our suppliers to check availability and make a preliminary hold for a period of 48 hours at the time of your requested quote. Should the vehicle you chose in your quotation not be available, we will offer you a fitting alternative

Is mileage included in the rental rate?

For most destinations all mileage is included in the rental rate with the exception of North America. When you rent your RV or campervan in the USA or Canada, you need to purchase mileage packages at the time of booking. You can purchase packages of 1000, 500 or 100 miles depending on the supplier. Some suppliers also offer an unlimited miles package. In order to decide which packages you need, it is advised to calculate the miles of your preferred itinerary. Any unused miles are non-refundable. Additional miles will be charged after drop-off of the rental vehicle.

Am I able to return my vehicle at another location?

Most of our RV and camper suppliers allow one-way rental, where you choose a different drop-off location from your pickup location. One-way RV rental is always on request and subject to a one-way fee. It depends on the season and availability at the rental location if your preferred one-way is approved by the supplier. Check the conditions of your preferred supplier here

Is it possible to change pickup or drop-off dates after I made the reservation?

This depends on the rental conditions of the supplier. If you would like to change the pickup or drop-off date prior to your departure, please contact us. If you are already traveling and you wish to extend or shorten your rental days, please contact the supplier directly to determine availability of your rental vehicle.

Can I check-in online to expedite the pick-up process at the rental location?

Most of our suppliers in North America offer online check-in. Please refer to the Online check-in for a list of suppliers who offer this service.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation can only be carried out by Worldwide Campers. It is not permitted to cancel directly with the supplier. The following costs apply:

  • After confirmation of the booking - until 14 days prior to your pickup date: EURO 50,00 + cancellation charges of the supplier.
  • Within 14 days of the pickup date and in case of a no show at the rental location: EURO 100,00 + cancellation charges of the supplier.

For more information, please refer to the conditions per country.

Insurance coverage

Does my automobile insurance cover RV or campervan rental?

Automobile insurance does cover camper rental insurance, additional insurances are advised when renting an RV. Please contact our customer service team for more information.

How much is the security deposit?

Most of our US suppliers require a security deposit of $500-2000. This amount will be refunded to you within 4 weeks after your return. Travelers Autobarn is an exception: if you add the collision damage waiver to your reservation, the security deposit fee will be waived. The security deposit needs to be paid by credit card at the time of your rental pick-up. Details of security deposits are listed by supplier under terms and conditions on our RV & camper suppliers.

Do I need additional coverage?

If you want to cover the deductible you need additional coverage. Worldwide campers can arrange this coverage with our No Risk Warranty. In case of damage or theft of the RV you will be held liable for an amount with a maximum similar to the deposit, and charged by the supplier. Do I need a generator?

Generally speaking, you can connect (hook-up) to electricity when you are parked at a campground. When you are not connected to the local power network, you can use the generator which will be helpful if you are staying in a national park or at a campground without hook-up facilities.  Costs of a generator vary per supplier and will be included in the quote you receive as an option.  You can also choose to rent the generator at the rental location.

About your rental vehicle

What are the beds like in an RV or campervan?

Most RV and campervan models offer one or more of the beds listed below:
– Cabover bed: bed above the driving cabin, which is generally permanent/fixed as a bed.  This bed cabin will have a shorter height/head space.
– Double bed: permanent/fixed bed usually located in the back of the main cabin. Double beds are often near the bathroom and may have a rounded corner to ease the walkway to the bathroom.
– Dinette bed: the dining table can be removed and this area transforms into a bed.
– Queen bed: a large, detached bed in the back of the cabin, usually in a separate bedroom.
– Bunk beds: stacked single beds in the back of the cabin – a favorite with kids!

The sizing of the beds differs and it is wise to check if your travel company will fit their appointed beds. Check out the RV of Campervan details for the sizing.

Beds do not include linens. You can add personal kits to your RV rental in Step 2 of your quotation request. The personal kits consist of individual bedding including sheets, blanket, pillows, pillowcases, washcloths and towels and are only available at aditional costs. If you do not want to purchase personal kits, you will need to supply your own bedding, pillows and linens.

How much storage space is there for suitcases and personal items?

If you rent a large RV for 5 people or more, often there is storage space in the back for all your belongings. In order to utilize all the storage space in your vehicle, we advise that you pack your belongings in bags or soft-shelled travelbags versus hard-sided suitcases. Please check the camper details of your preferred vehicle for more information.

Sometimes it is possible to leave your suitcase in storage at the rental location, which means you only bring the contents of your suitcase in the RV or campervan. This is only possible for round trips and at your own risk.

At the rental location

How much time does it take to pickup or drop-off a camper?

The pickup and drop-off procedure at the rental location takes 1-2 hours. During the pickup of your rental vehicle you will be shown an instruction video with useful information on how to operate your rental RV and how everything works in and around the vehicle. Please make sure you understand the operations thoroughly and ask all your questions to the rental staff. Every RV and campervan also has an instruction guide in the vehicle, once you are on the road.

At the rental location you will have the opportunity to add extra's to your reservation, like propane or camping chairs. We advise you to read the rental agreement once more before signing. During the inspection of your rental vehicle with the staff, please check if your inventory (purchased convenience kits and personal kits) is complete.

My flight is delayed - what should I do?

If your flight is delayed, there is a good chance that you will not be able to pick up the camper at the indicated pick-up time. The pick-up locations are often only open for a limited time. For this reason, please call our emergency number on your voucher immediately so that we can report the delay to the local supplier.

Can I leave my own car at the rental location during my travels?

Whether or not you can leave your own car in the secured parking lot of the rental location, depends on the supplier and the rental location. Please indicate you would like to park your car at the rental location and our customer service team will include the details in your quote.  Please note, the rental company assumes no responsibility for your vehicle and is parked at your own risk.

Can I upgrade to a larger model when picking up the vehicle?

Suppliers generally have dedicated reservations for the vehicles at the rental locations, and on-site changes cannot be accommodated.  If you are unsure which RV or camper model will fit your needs, please contact us, we would be happy to help guide you to the perfect vehicle!

What are the drop-off procedures?

There are a few things to consider before dropping off your rental at the rental location at the end of your trip:

Fuel: Most of our suppliers work with a “full-to-full” policy. This means you will receive the rental vehicle with a full tank, and you will also have to return it with a full tank.  You will be reminded of their policies during the pickup process.

Cleaning: The policy is that you return your RV or campervan as you received it (i.e. no dirty dishes, remove any garbage). Some suppliers do offer cleaning packages, which can be purchased at the time of pickup.  Please check terms and conditions at the location or contact us for more information.

Damages: You will check the rental vehicle together with the local supplier for any damages and report any problems that may have occurred during your rental period. If damage occurred, you will discuss any charges associated at the time of drop-off.

Overage of Miles: If you exceed your mileage package, the overage of miles will be paid at the time of drop-off pursuant to the signed rental contract. Costs vary per supplier.

During your travels

Can I cross the border to another country with my RV or camper?

Most of our suppliers allow cross-border travel between the United States and Canada during your trip. However, it is not possible to pickup and return the vehicle in different countries. In addition, most suppliers do ask you to mention your cross-border adventures during the pickup procedure and some suppliers charge you a small fee per night accross the border.

Many of our suppliers in Europe, southern Africa and South America allow cross-border travel as well. This is also on the condition that you discuss this at the rental location during pickup. Please refer to the specific terms and conditions of your preferred supplier.

What should I do when anything occurs during our trip - such as an accident or damage to the vehicle.

Please call the supplier immediately for any roadside assistance or report of damage to the vehicle. You will find the telephone number in the Roadside Assistance booklet – and it is typically also located on your keychain.  The supplier will advise you what to do. Depending on the situation, this could mean a visit to the nearest service garage, or even being towed if the vehicle cannot be driven. In all cases, we suggest you document who you spoke to at the supplier service center as well as retain all receipts or invoices associated with any service or repair.

Special note:  We strongly advise that you read through any travel restriction.  If you experience roadside problems in an area that is restricted, you may be responsible for towing charges. (For example, traveling into or through Death Valley, CA during the summer months is prohibited.)

Staying at a campground or RV park

Your RV rental with Worldwide Campers does not contain any campground reservations. If you are traveling in peak season or your plans include camping in a national park, we advise you to reserve some campsites in advance. While some areas allow you to camp free, we advice you to overnight at an established campground or RV park. Staying at a campground or RV park will offer you additional services, from basic to luxury facilities. Read more about campgrounds here.

What does a 'full hook up' mean?

A full hook up is a campsite with all facilities for your RV. You can hook up the RV to electricity, water and sewer. You do not need a full hook up for every overnight, but it is advised to stay at a full hook up campsite every few days.

What about toll roads and traffic fines?

Tolls are the responsibility of the renter.  RV and camper rentals are not equipped with a transponder or toll sticker (pass). If a toll was mistakenly not paid, the supplier may share your name and address details to the relevant toll collection agency. The toll collector will then send you an invoice directly. You are responsible for payment of the toll charge directly to the toll collection agency, which can usually be done through the website of the relevant authority. In other cases, the supplier will pay the toll and in turn, the toll fee will be charged using your credit card on file.  The toll may be subject to administration fees.

Any traffic violations resulting in fees or tickets will be handled in a similar way as above – either paid directly to the issuing authority or reimbursing the supplier on your behalf.

What should I do when I have comments or complaints about the RV during my trip?

When you pick up your RV, the supplier will completely overview the vehicle with you and check for any damages prior to your departure. If you notice damage or something that is not according to the rental agreement, please bring this to the immediate attention of the supplier for resolution. If you have any issues during your trip, please contact the supplier directly utilizing the customer service number provided at check-in.
