One way RV rentals
When you book a motorhome, you choose a rental location in the country and city of your choice. You pick up and return your motorhome at this location, making your trip a round trip. You may, however, prefer to return your motorhome to a different location. This is called a one-way rental. Many motorhome rental companies offer one-way rentals, usually on request.
Drop-off fees
A one-way rental request must be approved by the motorhome rental company, as it first needs to assess the number of motorhomes at each rental location. Since the rental company arranges transportation to return the motorhome to its original rental location, you pay a drop-off fee for a one-way rental. These fees vary by rental company and country.
International one-way rentals
In Europe, Indie Campers offers one-way rentals in several countries. In Scandinavia, our rental partner Touring Cars offers one-way rentals in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Indie Campers also offers various international one-way rentals, for example from France to Switzerland or from Germany to Belgium. Only a few motorhome rental companies, such as McRent, do not offer one-way rentals at all. One-way rentals are also available in Australia and New Zealand. All one-way rentals, including international one-way rentals, incur additional fees.
If you are interested in a one-way motorhome trip in the USA, it is a good idea to check the special offers first or contact our customer service team. They can check whether any of the specials suit your needs. These one-way specials often mean that you do not have to pay an additional drop-off fee and that necessary extras, such as mileage and personal equipment, are included, because the rental company needs more motorhomes at the drop-off location in question. One-way specials are most common in the early or late season.
